As many of you are aware Greater Peace Local 13 provides funds for teachers to attend professional development. While we can provide funds to a good number of teachers we can’t provide for all. If you are planning on attending a PD session during the school year and want to make use of local PD money it is best to get your application in early.
I have included the PD application form and expense claim form (see links below). Please use only these forms as they are up to date.
You MUST apply first (no less than 7 days before the conference date) before attending a conference. Teachers that fail to apply first (or those that apply late) will only be reimbursed in June if there are monies still remaining in the PD fund.
Current expense claim forms must be used (see links below). Please note that receipts must be kept and sent for everything including travel and meal expenses (electronic PDFs are acceptable). If you do not claim using the current form, you will be required to resubmit the form (delaying your reimbursement). If you do not submit your claim AND receipts within 30 days, you will have to wait until June to be reimbursed and will only be reimbursed if there are monies remaining.
Reimbursements will only be made monthly at Local Council Meetings or mailed in December or June as there are no meetings in these months. Checks will be sent with your local representative. If your local representative is not in attendance, checks will be sent in the IMC or mailed if the IMC does not deliver to your school.
Expense claims sent to Shirene Napier will NOT be forwarded to the treasurer (but she will remind you to do so).
